Vincent Van Gogh: Starry Night

Starry Night was painted by Vincent Van Gogh. It is said to be one of the most well known paintings among modern culture (Van Gogh Gallery). It consists of eleven stars and one moon, with blue swirls of the paint brush to represent the sky. There is a town below the sky as well. Starry Night is an example of a post-impressionist painting. It was this, because Van Gogh experimented with a variety of styles. He experimented with sharp brush lines, and bright colors(Ellis and Esler). Critics say, "Although the features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel comfortable and at ease with" (Van Gogh Gallery).
